What Are Injectable Fillers?

Filler injections, often simply called "fillers," are treatments aimed at restoring lost facial volume, which can occur in patients who are aging or who have lost weight. This treatment works by incorporating the dermal filler under the skin to fill sunken or hollowed areas. Fillers are an excellent, minimally invasive option for Crestview, FL individuals wanting to even out fine lines, sagging skin, and/or wrinkles in order to create a younger-looking face. They can also be incorporated into other cosmetic procedures to reveal the results of a facelift without the need for surgery, the risk of scarring, and the associated downtime that follows. At Main Street Medical Center & The Vue MediSpa, our aesthetic specialists offer a selection of injectable fillers, including JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, Sculptra®, and RHA® Collection, to provide the widest range of options to meet each patient's needs. To determine which injectable fillers are recommended for you, we invite you to contact our office where Dr. Josh and Lindsay Adams, APRN can help you learn more.

How Do Injectable Fillers Work?

Prior to your dermal filler injections, Dr. Josh or Lindsay Adams, APRN will meet with you to gain insight into your aesthetic goals and determine what product may best produce them. To begin the actual procedure, a member of our team will use numbing cream as a local anesthetic to minimize the discomfort of the injections. Our injector will use their experience to determine the amount of filler that is necessary and will slowly and meticulously inject it through a very fine needle. We may administer either half of a syringe or an entire syringe, depending on the extent of the treatment.

What Are the Benefits of Injectable Fillers?

For Crestview, FL individuals, dermal fillers may treat several different worries and provide various advantages, such as:

  • Rejuvenate and add volume to regions that are hollow or flat
  • Smooth out regions affected by sagging or fine lines
  • Increase your self-image and overall appearance
  • Add facial balance to attain your optimal facial shape

What to Expect After Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers are done as an in-office procedure in a very short amount of time. Due to the numbing agents, the process is usually only mildly uncomfortable and requires little to no downtime afterward. You should expect swelling and bruising immediately after, but these symptoms will dissipate within a couple of days. Results can last from three months to a year based on the type of filler used and the placement of the injection. Touch-ups may be needed to maintain results.

About Us
How much do injectable fillers cost?

The price of an injectable filler treatment will vary depending on which brand of filler is used and how much is needed. During your initial consultation at our med spa, your injector will work with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs and goals. From there, our office can provide an estimated cost and let you know if we're offering any special pricing.

Which injectable filler is right for me?

The filler formula used for your injection will depend on the area being treated and your desired outcomes. Before your treatment begins, we'll discuss these topics and make our recommendations for which product is best for your goals. With so many types of fillers available, it can be difficult to identify which is better for your needs and goals, but we take time to ensure you experience results you are happy with.

What is the difference between wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers?

Wrinkle relaxers (like BOTOX®) are used to minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles (usually near the brow and around the eyes) by relaxing the muscles used to make certain facial expressions. Fillers add volume to fill in fine lines, wrinkles, and certain types of scars. Dermal fillers can also be used to create fuller lips and cheeks and reduce the appearance of aging on the hands.

How long will my results last?

Dermal filler results can differ based on which brand was used and which area was targeted. For certain patients, improvements may be visible for as long as one year, while others might need another treatment after a couple of months. Touch-up injections are available at our practice in order to maintain your results.

Where can dermal fillers be used around the face?

Dermal fillers are effective for improving signs of aging throughout the face by either restoring volume or smoothing static lines. Dermal fillers can be injected into the marionette, parentheses, and corner lines near your mouth and nose. They can also restore volume to your lips and cheeks.
